Cominciamo con il dire che la qualità complessiva della musica rende l'album un must per gli appassionati di Basie e Big Band in generale.
Trattasi di una performance live in studio di Basie.
On the Road ci presenta un "Conte" in grande forma e molto ispirato, grandi assoli e grandi improvvisazioni.
Le note sono insolite, grandi gli effetti audio e forti anche gli assoli degli altri strumentisti.
Un ascolto facile e molto apprezzato.

Travelers S01e06 (2016) [WebMux Ita][A.C.U.M.]

Plot :

A team of special operatives, sent back in time from the future, are tasked with preventing the collapse of society. These operatives, known as travelers, enter the body of a 21st century individual moments before the individual's "recorded time of death". This process is referred to as a "transfer of consciousness" and cannot be used to transmit someone farther back than the 21st century. The recorded time of death is accurate to the second because of smart phones, computers, GPS, cameras, social media, and other digital pillars of the 21st century. These devices also provide knowledge of the individual who will be dying, which helps the traveler prepare for the life they will inhabit.

Without proper computing power and the back channels of the internet, the travelers would not have an accurate time of death to successfully occupy bodies moments before death. For example, the travelers cannot stop World War II, because the technology of the 1940s did not provide sufficient data to determine the exact time of recorded death, thus preventing the possession of hosts by a traveler.

The travelers must maintain their hosts' pre-existing lives to avoid attracting attention while performing missions aimed at saving the world from a series of catastrophic events. As the series progresses, changes in the present make significantly unanticipated changes in the future.

Nel 1945, la USS Indianapolis, guidata dal capitano Charles McVay (Nicolas Cage) consegna le due bombe atomiche che saranno poi utilizzate per attaccare Hiroshima e Nagasaki durante la fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Mentre pattugliano il Mar delle Filippine, il 30 luglio 1945, la nave viene però silurata e affondata da un sottomarino giapponese. 300 membri dell'equipaggio si inabissano con la nave, mentre il resto si arrampica fuori e rimane bloccato in mare per cinque giorni senza né cibo né acqua, tra le acque infestate da squali.

In 1945, the USS Indianapolis, led by Captain Charles McVay (Nicolas Cage) delivered the two atomic bombs that will be used to attack Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War. While patrolling the Philippine Sea, 30 July 1945, however, the ship is torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine. 300 crew members is sunk with the ship, while the rest climbs out and remains stuck at sea for five days without food or water, between the shark-infested waters.

Trama:
La serie è ambientata nel South Side di Chicago. La serie segue le vicende della disastrata e povera famiglia Gallagher, composta dal padre alcolizzato/drogato Frank e dai figli Fiona, la più grande, che a 12 anni inizia a prendersi cura degli altri fratelli quali Philip o semplicemente "Lip", Ian, Debbie, Carl e Liam. La mamma di questi ragazzi, Monica, li abbandona a causa dell'insopportabile Frank e del bipolarismo che l'affligge.

Questo agglomerato di persone è molto distante dall'idea tradizionale di famiglia: Frank non riesce a comportarsi da padre, e passa la maggior parte del suo tempo all'Alibi, un bar gestito da Kevin Ball e sua moglie, Veronica Fisher, vicini di casa dei Gallagher. Arriva al punto di trasferirsi da Sheila Jackson, madre della fidanzata di suo figlio Lip, per comodità e maggior disponibilità economica, dato che percepisce una pensione di invalidità a causa della sua agorafobia, a causa della quale non uscirà di casa per 5 anni.

Fiona è quella che si crede sia la figlia maggiore, che sembra essersi sobbarcata l'enorme peso dell'intera famiglia.

Quentin Coldwater è un inquieto ragazzo alle prese con le ansie derivanti dall'immaginare il proprio futuro all'inizio degli studi universitari. Per combattere anche sintomi di depressione, è solito rifugiarsi nell'universo immaginario della sua serie di libri preferita, Fillory and Further, una saga la cui storia di svolge in un fantastico universo parallelo a quello reale, Fillory, con similitudini con il mondo di Narnia. La sua vita viene stravolta quando viene invitato ai test di ammissione di una prestigiosa quanto segreta scuola di magia, l'unica in Nord America, il Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy. Ai test, insieme a Quentin, viene invitata anche la sua migliore amica Julia, che tuttavia non riesce a superarli. Quentin si ritrova quindi a frequentare la scuola, dove si avvicina in particolare a Alice Quinn, una ragazza proveniente da una famiglia di rinomati maghi che si è iscritta per scoprire quanto avvenuto al fratello, presumibilmente morto mentre frequentava la stessa struttura. A Brakebills apprende presto non solo che la magia è reale, ma anche che lo è il mondo di Fillory, dal quale proviene una grave minaccia per l'umanità intera. Nel frattempo Julia, che non si arrende all'idea di rinunciare al mondo della magia, viene reclutata da un'associazione segreta di stregoneria.

TRAMA

Nelle indagini è affiancato dall'agente speciale Samuel "Sam" Hanna, ex Navy SEAL della United States Navy che lavora nell'unit? di sorveglianza speciale; parla correntemente l'arabo ed è un esperto di cultura mediorientale.
Fanno parte della squadra anche lo psicologo Nate, l'investigatrice forense Kensi, e l'agente di collegamento con la polizia Marty Deeks.

Sunny Abernati, giovane e squattrinato, sogna di essere un temibile gangster capace di costringere gli stessi "boss" della malavita a cedergli parte dei loro "affari". Il caso vuole che egli metta le mani su quattro passaporti falsi, destinati a Joe il Tigre e ai suoi uomini, evasi di prigione. Spacciandosi per l'uomo destinato a consegnarglieli, Sunny ottiene dal Tigre, per ricompensa, il controllo di Mulberry Street, una via di New York su cui s'affacciano negozi, garages e una chiesa cattolica retta da un prete patito di boxe. Trovatosi un braccio destro, Sunny cerca di imporre la sua "protezione" ai commercianti della strada e allo stesso sacerdote, scalzando quella di un suo misterioso collega, chiamato Rocky. Sunny, però, è poco tagliato per quel "mestiere" e i suoi sforzi falliscono miseramente. Finalmente, quando il giovane ha ormai scoperto che Rocky non è altri che il prete (che si procura, con la "tangente", di che sfamare una quindicina di orfanelli), e che Virginia, la ragazza di cui è innamorato, è la sorella dello stesso sacerdote giunge, per vendicarsi di lui, la banda del Tigre. Grazie ai pugni di Rocky, i gangsters sono costretti a filarsela, e per Sunny, smessi gli abiti del gangster, si profila una onesta esistenza al fianco di Virginia.

Sunny Abernati, young and penniless, dreams of being a fearsome gangster capable of enforcing the same "boss" of the underworld to cede part of their "business." It so happens that he put his hands on four false passports, designed to Joe the Tiger and his men, escaped from prison. Posing as the man destined to deliver them, Sunny gets the Tiger, for reward, the control Mulberry Street, a street of New York on which overlook shops, garages and a straight Catholic church as a fan of boxing priest. Finding himself a right arm, Sunny tries to impose its "protection" to the street traders and at the same priest, knocking one of his mysterious fellow named Rocky. Sunny, however, is just cut out for "profession" and his efforts fail miserably. Finally, when the young man has now discovered that Rocky is none other than the priest (who procures, with the "bribe", which feed about fifteen orphans), and Virginia, the girl he loves, is the sister of the priest himself comes to take revenge on him, the band of the Tiger. With fists of Rocky, the gangsters are forced to scram, and Sunny, the cast-off clothes of the gangster, the result is an honest existence alongside Virginia.
