Formed in Poland in 1985 - Disbanded in 2003 - Reformed in 2013

This Neo Prog band from Poland was not only the most important band from this country in the 90's; It figures among the best Neo Prog bands in the world. Blending heavy keyboard background with extremelly melodical guitar and vocals, they were able to deliver an original and very interseting music. Intricate tempo changes differenciate this band from the competition amongst their style, with vocals in Polish and English depending on the album.

"Moonshine" is one of the greatest symphonic progressive rock CD's of the modern era. This CD features great production, wonderful melodies and singing with superb playing-both as accompaniment and tasty biting solos and fills.

La donna elettrica, il film diretto da Benedikt Erlingsson racconta la storia di Halla (Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir), che sembra una donna come le altre, ma dietro la routine di ogni giorno nasconde una vita segreta: armata di tutto punto compie spericolate azioni di sabotaggio contro le multinazionali che stanno devastando la sua terra, la splendida Islanda. Quando però una sua vecchia richiesta d’adozione va a buon fine e una bambina si affaccia a sorpresa nella sua vita, Halla dovrà affrontare la sua sfida più grande...

~ ~ ~ DIFFERENZA TRA LIBRO E FILM ~ ~ ~

La pellicola è molto fedele al soggetto originale, ma viene cambiata la causa iniziale che porta al processo: nel film è un'arma da fuoco usata da un uomo disperato per compiere una strage, e la sua vedova fa causa all'azienda costruttrice; nel libro è un uomo morto di cancro ai polmoni, contratto fumando sigarette e assumendone le sostanze tossiche e cancerogene. Cambia anche la motivazione di Marlee; nel film è sorella di una ragazza vittima di una sparatoria, nel libro è figlia di genitori ammalatisi in circostanze analoghe al marito della vedova che intenta causa, e il giurato è il suo ragazzo.

Trama

1973. Uruguay is governed by a military dictatorship. One autumn night, three Tupamaro prisoners are taken from their jail cells in a secret military operation. The order is precise: "As we can't kill them, let's drive them mad." The three men will remain in solitary confinement for twelve years. Among them is Pepe Mujica - later to become president of Uruguay.

Settembre 1973. L'Uruguay è sotto il controllo di una dittatura militare. Il movimento di guerriglia dei Tupamaros è stato schiacciato e smantellato da un anno. I suoi membri sono stati imprigionati e torturati. In una notte di autunno, nove prigionieri Tupamaro vengono portati via dalle loro celle nell'ambito di un'operazione militare segreta che durerà 12 anni. Da quel momento in poi, verranno spostati, a rotazione, in diverse caserme sparse nel Paese e assoggettati a un macabro esperimento; una nuova forma di tortura mirata ad abbattere le loro capacità di resistenza psicologica.

Una giovane vedova di New Orleans cita in giudizio un potente consorzio d'affari, che ritiene responsabile dell'omicidio di suo marito. Si tratta di un caso da molti milioni di dollari. Ma e' anche un caso che potrebbe essere vinto ancor prima che il processo abbia inizio. Tutto sta nella composizione della giuria - nella sua manipolazione e, in ultima analisi, nel tentato furto del verdetto. A rappresentare la vedova e' Wendall Rohr (Dustin Hoffman), un avvocato del Sud degli Stati Uniti con un forte senso morale e una passione totale per il caso che ha assunto. Apparentemente, il suo avversario in aula dovrebbe essere l'avvocato che difende il consorzio d'affari. In realta', pero', il team dei difensori e' solo un paravento dietro cui si nasconde Rankin Fitch (Gene Hackman), uno spregiudicato e brillante consulente per le giurie. In un centro comando dotato di tecnologie d'avanguardia, situato in un vecchio magazzino nel Quartiere Francese, Rankin Fitch e il suo team lavorano alla sorveglianza e alla valutazione di ogni potenziale giurato. Il suo compito e' scoprire tutto quanto c'e' da sapere sulle loro vite, cosi da poter abilmente manipolare il processo di selezione dei giurati. Il solo risultato accettabile del suo lavoro e' una giuria perfetta per ottenere il suo scopo: un verdetto a favore del suo cliente. Rankin Fitch e Wendell Rohr, pero', si rendono conto ben presto di non essere i soli interessati a conquistarsi la giuria. Anche uno dei giurati, Nick Easter (John Cusack), sembra infatti avere un suo piano per indirizzare la giuria. E c'e' una donna misteriosa, che si fa chiamare solo Marlee (Rachel Weisz), che contatta sia Rohr che Fitch e fa sapere di essere in grado di vendere ad uno di loro la giuria - ma a caro prezzo. Quando il caso arriva in aula, nel Quartiere Francese ha inizio una partita molto pericolosa a rimpiattino. Se la moralita' di Rohr viene messa alla prova, a Fitch tocchera' oltrepassare la linea che divide la selezione di una giuria dal furto di un verdetto - a dispetto

Negli anni Settanta Dick Cheney sta con una ragazza davvero in gamba, Lynne, che riesce a farlo ammettere all'Università, dove lui però viene travolto dal gozzovigliare da college e, tra una sbornia e l'altra, finisce per farsi espellere. Non contento, continua a bere anche mentre lavora ai pali della corrente elettrica, finisce in una rissa e viene arrestato per guida in stato di ebrezza. A quel punto Lynne gli dà un ultimatum: o diventa la persona di potere che lei in quanto donna non può essere ma può aiutare e guidare, oppure tra loro è finita. La storia è nota: i due diventeranno una "power couple" di Washington e domineranno placidamente, quasi nell'ombra, l'amministrazione di George W. Bush, tra le più devastanti per la democrazia americana.
