Arthur Curry, half human half from Atlantis, goes on a trip of a lifetime. Not only does this adventure compel him to come to terms with his real identity, but it also forces him to discover whether he is entirely worthy of fulfilling his own destiny: becoming a king.

Arthur è figlio di Tom, guardiano di un faro, e Atlanna, nientemeno che regina di Atlantide. L'unione dei due è però clandestina, tanto che per salvare il figlio Atlanna accetterà di farsi giudicare nella città subacquea, che la giustizierà consegnandola al più feroce dei popoli sottomarini. Arthur cresce imparando in segreto da Vulko, consigliere del re e di suo figlio Orm, i segreti di Atlantide, ma da adulto preferisce stare lontano dalla città sommersa e si limita a compiere gesta eroiche in mare, come salvare un sottomarino da un team di pirati. Qui finisce per lasciare morire uno di loro e il figlio giura vendetta, tanto da allearsi con il fratellastro di Arthur, Orm. Nel mentre la figlia di Re Nereus, Mera, cerca di convincere Arthur ad abbracciare il suo retaggio di regale atlantideo per scongiurare una guerra, ma per riuscire in questo piano sarà necessario ritrovare il perduto tridente di Atlan.

In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.

Londra, negli anni della crisi economica tra le due guerre. Nella casa della famiglia Banks ora vive Michael, adulto, e vedovo da un anno, con tre figli a cui badare: John, Annabel e Georgie. Dora Jobim racconta l'intenzione di Nelson Pereira Dos Santos, quella di realizzare un documentario musicale nella forma pi? radicale del termine. Non Ë stato facile organizzare il film. Era il periodo del pieno fermento culturale, Rio era invasa dalla "batida joao gilbertiana"; Brasilia era in fase di costruzione, dominata dall'architettura innovativa di Oscar Niemeyer e Lucio Costa. Si staglia la voce di Elizeth che canta "Agostinho dos Santos" e "A Felicidade". Si alternano Sarah Vaughan, Diana Krall, Pierre Barouh, Henri Salvador e Silvia Telles. A gran sorpresa anche la nostra stella Mina! Gli interpreti prestano la voce al repertorio del maestro, proponendo sempre qualcosa di intenso, ricco e originale. Immancabile la finale del Festival Internacional da CanÁ„o: Tom Jobim e Chico Buarque che vincono con "Sabi·", due testimonial di una canzone che porta in alto l'amore per una patria travagliata dalla cruenta dittatura, lo sfogo del pubblico che sventola le bandiere cantando tra lacrime e sorrisi e saudade, tanta saudade.

Fine del XIX secolo, Inghilterra. William Chester Minor, un ex-medico americano in passato di servizio nella guerra di secessione americana, è affetto da allucinazioni in cui si vede perseguitato da un soldato che aveva dovuto marchiare a fuoco per diserzione. Durante una di queste visioni, scambiandolo per l'uomo che lo perseguita, insegue e uccide George Merrett: per questo crimine gli viene riconosciuta l'infermità mentale e viene portato al manicomio di Broadmoor. Intanto, il professor James Murray viene ammesso dalla Oxford University Press nella commissione incaricata di redigere l'Oxford English Dictionary, un imponente vocabolario in grado di elencare ogni termine della lingua inglese e di spiegarne etimologia e variazioni di significato, con citazioni letterarie a supporto. L'opera è stata iniziata vent'anni prima, ma portarla a termine è difficoltoso data la mole di lavoro e la velocità con cui la lingua inglese muta. Murray ha così l'idea di lanciare un appello al popolo inglese: chiede che chiunque lo desideri invii alla commissione una cartolina postale recante un lemma. Questo guadagna a Murray il posto di direttore della commissione.
