Inverno 1940/41.
Internato a Görlitz (Polonia), in un campo di concentramento tedesco, ad Olivier Messiaen è concesso, da parte del comandante del lager, di lavorare a una partitura inedita.
In quel campo, per un caso fortunato, oltre a lui sono stati fatti prigionieri altri tre musicisti: Etienne Pasquier (violoncellista), Henri Akoka (clarinettista) e Jean le Boulaire (violinista). Confortato dalla presenza di questi tre colleghi, Messiaen inizia a comporre quella che diverrà la sua opera più significativa: Il Quartetto per la fine del Tempo, creato - a detta del suo stesso autore - "per evadere dalla neve, dalla guerra, dalla prigionia e da me stesso".
Il risultato è una delle composizioni per musica da camera fra le più significative/innovative del secolo scorso.

Olivier Eugène Prosper Charles Messiaen (Avignone, 10 dicembre 1908 - Clichy, 27 aprile 1992) è stato un compositore, organista e ornitologo francese.
Si iscrisse al conservatorio di Parigi all'età di 11 anni ed ebbe tra i suoi professori musicisti del calibro di Paul Dukas, Maurice Emmanuel, Charles-Marie Widor e Marcel Dupré. Nel 1931 ottenne il posto di organista della Chiesa della Trinité a Parigi, incarico che mantenne fino alla morte. Nel 1940, durante l'invasione tedesca della Francia venne fatto prigioniero di guerra ed internato nello Stalag VIII-A, un campo di lavoro presso Görlitz. Qui, trovando casualmente tra i suoi compagni di prigionia tre musicisti, compose, col beneplacito del responsabile del campo appassionato di musica, una delle sue composizioni più note, il Quatuor pour la fin du Temps (Quartetto per la fine del Tempo) per clarinetto, violino, violoncello e pianoforte. La prima venne eseguita il 15 gennaio 1941 davanti ad un pubblico di circa quattrocento persone composto da prigionieri e guardie. Poco dopo la sua liberazione nel 1941 ottenne l'incarico di professore di armonia al conservatorio di Parigi e a cui si aggiunse nel 1966 quello di professore di composizione, posti che mantenne fino al proprio pensionamento nel 1978. Tra i suoi numerosi allievi si distinsero particolarmente Pierre Boulez, Yvonne Loriod (che divenne poi la sua seconda moglie), Karlheinz Stockhausen, Iannis Xenakis e George Benjamin.
Messiaen si interessò alla musica indiana (più precisamente alla musica carnatica) e dell'antica Grecia, e in particolare al loro ritmo; questo interesse si riscontra nelle sue opere che hanno spesso una struttura ritmica molto complessa o inusuale. Dal punto di vista armonico e melodico si distinse per l'introduzione e l'uso di particolari scale musicali a cui diede il nome di modi a trasposizione limitata. L'impiego di questi modi gli permise di esplorare le relazione tra l'udito e gli altri sensi, realizzando una musica sinestetica, in cui l'incontro e la sovrapposizione di accordi doveva creare l'impressione di vedere certi ben determinati accostamenti di colore. Per un breve periodo sperimentò anche il serialismo integrale, anticipando per certi aspetti l'opera del suo allievo Boulez. A rendere ancora più eclettico ed inconfondibile il suo stile è l'uso di strumenti esotici o curiosi come il gamelan e le onde Martenot (Jeanne Loriod, sorella della sua seconda moglie, era una virtuosa di questo strumento). A dispetto dello stile così vario e inusuale, la maggior parte delle sue composizioni (con la notevole eccezione di quelle ispirate al canto degli uccelli) sono di carattere sacro o mistico e dipingono quello che egli stesso chiamava ¬´l'aspetto meraviglioso della fede¬ª, testimoniando il suo incrollabile credo nella religione cattolica.
Messiaen era affascinato dal canto degli uccelli, era suo convincimento che essi fossero i più grandi musicisti sulla terra e considerava se stesso più un ornitologo che un compositore. Nei suoi numerosi viaggi in tutto il mondo, ebbe modo di ascoltare e registrare il canto di numerosi uccelli, realizzando delle trascrizioni (soprattutto per pianoforte ma anche per orchestra), tra cui la più celebre è il Catalogue d'oiseaux (Catalogo d'uccelli), composta tra il 1956 e il 1958. Oltre ad essere composizioni a se stanti, tali trascrizioni vennero inserite in gran parte delle sue opere più famose, come nella Sinfonia Turangalîla e nel San Francesco d'Assisi.
L'uso innovativo di ritmo, melodia e armonia, la sua personale concezione delle relazioni tra tempo, musica e colore, la passione per il canto degli uccelli e la sua sincera e profonda ispirazione religiosa, nonché il suo ruolo di didatta, hanno contribuito a fare di Messiaen uno dei più grandi ed influenti compositori del XX secolo.

Il 15 gennaio 1941, alla presenza dei nazisti e dei prigionieri, la prima esecuzione pubblica dell'opera in condizioni fisiche e tecniche indecenti: il freddo è atroce, al violoncello manca una corda e i tasti del piano su cui suona il compositore una volta abbassati stentano a risalire. Ma i quattro conducono a termine egualmente il concerto di fronte ad una platea incredibilmente attenta e partecipe nonostante l'arditezza della tessitura musicale. Spentasi l'ultima nota, un applauso caloroso riscalda i cuori di Messiaen e dei suoi compagni: la loro battaglia musicale è risultata vincente. Verranno anticipatamente liberati dalla prigionia appena qualche mese più tardi, grazie a quella loro straordinaria testimonianza artistica.

Il Quatuor pour la fin du Temps risente non solo del tragico clima storico in cui è stato composto ma pure della profonda religiosità che permeava l'animo del suo creatore, attratto da un brano dell'Apocalisse giovannea nel quale un Angelo annuncia appunto la fine del tempo, che avverrà al suono di tromba del settimo nunzio divino. E otto sono infatti i movimenti del quartetto, poiché - nella visione apocalittica cui si ispira Messiaen - dopo tale annuncio la durata temporale sarà abolita per dar luogo all'eterno.
Si tratta dunque di una musica a programma: d'una inedita musica sacra in versione cameristica, all'insegna della meditazione e di un misticismo tanto eccentrico quanto profondo.

Si pensi solo alla titolazione dei vari brani di cui essa si compone:

Per ogni movimento Messiaen fornì una precisa annotazione/ambientazione, a fine didascalico e orientativo nei confronti degli esecutori e dell'uditorio.
Il primo tempo, dal taglio estremamente suggestivo, in cui intervengono tutti e quattro gli strumenti a mimare trilli d'usignolo e altri volatili, rivela quanto fosse forte nel musicista l'amore per la natura e gli uccelli, in particolare, da lui a lungo studiati.
Il secondo - sempre per quartetto -, dopo un breve avvio vivace che introduce l'Angelo annunciatore, si snoda tranquillo attraverso una melodia dal carattere contemplativo, per terminare con stridenti/inquietanti accordi finali.
Il terzo, interpretato dal clarinetto solo, alterna il lamento elegiaco al gioioso canto degli uccelli i quali, a differenza degli umani, vivono in una dimensione di naturalità/spontaneità che ci è ormai preclusa.
Il quarto, forse il meno riuscito degli otto (o almeno il più virtuosistico) è un breve scherzo in cui il piano è assente.
Di ben altra forza espressiva il quinto movimento, dove il violoncello canta una lode a Gesù - eternamente presente nell'anima di chi ha fede il lui - accompagnato dagli accordi mesti e martellanti del piano.
Espressionistico il sesto tempo - per quartetto -, dalle audaci innovazioni ritmiche e dalla sonorità granitica, maestosa e imponente.
Il settimo brano è un pezzo di bravura per quartetto, inizialmente dai toni pacati poi sempre più vivace, acceso, intenso e vorticoso.
L'ultimo movimento, che fa da contraltare al quinto, vede il violino in un lungo a solo - sostenuto dal basso continuo del piano - che si dipana attraverso una dolcissima linea melodico-canora  che si spegne estatica e sognante.

- Biografia -
 
Claudia Cernigoi (Trieste, 1959) è una giornalista e scrittrice italiana.
Impiegata pubblica, dal 1981 svolge anche il lavoro di pubblicista e giornalista. Esperta di storia locale di Trieste nel periodo fascista e durante la seconda guerra mondiale, ha pubblicato una serie di lavori sull'analisi degli antefatti delle foibe e attualmente dirige la rivista "Nuova Alabarda", su cui sono stati pubblicati alcuni dossier sulla strategia della tensione.
Collaboratrice di radio libere triestine, nel 2002 con Mario Coglitore ha pubblicato "La memoria tradita", evoluzione del fascismo nell'ultimo dopoguerra.
Già iscritta al Partito della Rifondazione Comunista, nell' anno 1999 e 2000, presenta dimissioni per motivi personali. La sua interpretazione dei fatti storici è accusata di estremo radicalismo da alcuni storici e c'è chi, come Raoul Pupo, l'ha inserita fra i negazionisti o riduzionisti delle foibe. Negli ultimi anni la sua attività si è particolarmente concentrata contro il Giorno del Ricordo (giorno memoriale che la Repubblica Italiana dedica agli infoibati e agli esuli), partecipando a una serie di contromanifestazioni per presentare quella che viene definita da lei e da altri la verità contro il revisionismo storico.

Se sul player Apri Disco non funziona, fate Apri file e aprite il file 00001.m2ts che si trova nella cartella BDMV/STREAM del drive virtuale.
Terminato il play andate sopra il drive virtuale: Tasto destro del mouse - Espelli.

Mac.
Estraete la iso con WinRar, quindi effettuate il play del file 00001.m2ts che si trova nella cartella BDMV/STREAM.

SmartTV.
Se la vostra smartTV supporta i file m2ts si tratta semplicemente di copiare un file:
- Su un PC con Windows 8/10 (con Windows 7 dovete installare VirtualCloneDrive) fate un doppio click sul file iso e sul PC compare un disco blu-ray virtuale .
- Copiate il file 00001.m2ts che si trova all'interno della cartella BDMV/STREAM del disco virtuale sul disco che usate per la smartTV.
- Terminata la copia andate sopra il drive virtuale: Tasto destro del mouse - Espelli.
Se i file m2ts non sono supportati allora convertite la iso blu-ray in MKV come illustrato di seguito (richiede pochi minuti).

Lettore blu-ray.
Se il vostro lettore blu-ray da tavolo supporta i blu-ray su DVD (BD-5), potete masterizzare direttamente il file iso su un DVD riscrivibile e usare il lettore.
Completato il rilascio dei titoli spiegherò come riunire tutta la collana in un unico blu-ray navigabile per titoli e capitoli.


CONVERSIONE IN MKV.
E' possibile convertire la iso blu-ray in MKV tramite BDtoAVCHD.
La conversione richiede pochi minuti ed è senza perdita di qualità (remux), la navigazione per capitoli viene mantenuta.

Lindisfarne were a British folk/rock group from Newcastle upon Tyne established in 1970 (originally called Brethren[1]) and fronted by singer/songwriter Alan Hull. Their music combined a strong sense of yearning with an even stronger sense of fun. The original line-up comprised Alan Hull (vocals, guitar, piano), Ray Jackson (vocals, mandolin, harmonica), Simon Cowe (guitar, mandolin, banjo), Rod Clements (bass guitar, violin) and Ray Laidlaw (drums).

They are best known for the albums Nicely Out of Tune (1970), Fog on the Tyne (1971) and Back and Fourth (197, also for the success of songs such as "Meet Me On The Corner", "Lady Eleanor", "Run For Home" and "We Can Swing Together".

Trama
