Bill Sant'Antonio compie una rapina ad un treno, impossessandosi di 300.000 dollari in oro e uccidendo tutti i passeggeri del convoglio. Uno di questi, però, prima di morire fa in tempo a rivelare il nome del sanguinario bandito. Si mettono alla sua ricerca Earp, agente di una compagnia di assicurazione, e Doc, un pistolero il quale credeva di averlo ucciso in un precedente duello. L'uccisione di uno sceriffo indica a Doc la strada per rintracciare il fuorilegge: infatti, seguendo un gruppo di banditi, arriva alla sua tana, ma viene catturato. Earp, anch'egli sulla buona pista, riesce a liberare Doc e a recuperare il prezioso bottino, che è causa di dissapore tra i due. Mentre discutono violentemente, vengono di nuovo catturati dai banditi, subendo ogni sorta di torture, poiché avevano già nascosto il denaro. Doc intanto, con la complicità di Bud, braccio destro di Bill, viene liberato con la promessa dell'oro e approfitta dell'occasione per uccidere il bandito, sfidando infine lo stesso Bill Sant'Antonio. Frattanto Earp, riuscito a liberarsi, arriva in tempo a evitare il duello, imponendo a Bill di arrendersi. Quest'ultimo, con uno stratagemma, riesce a ferirlo ma viene inevitabilmente ucciso da Doc. I due, finalmente riappacificatisi, ripartono con tutto il denaro recuperato.



Bill Sant'Antonio raids a train, seizing $ 300,000 in gold and killing all the convoy passengers. One of these, however, before dying in time reveals the name of the bloody bandit. Earp, an insurance company's agent, and Doc, a gunman who thought he had killed him in a previous duel, is being brought to his search. The killing of a sheriff tells Doc the way to tracing the outlaw: in fact, following a group of bandits, he comes to his den, but is caught. Earp, also on the good track, is able to release Doc and recover the precious booty, which is the cause of disagreement between the two. As they argue violently, they are again captured by the bandits, undergoing all sorts of torture, since they had already hidden the money. Doc, meanwhile, with the complicity of Bud, Bill's right arm, is released with the promise of gold and takes advantage of the opportunity to kill the bandit, finally challenging Bill Sant'Antonio himself. Meanwhile, Earp, managed to get rid of, came in time to avoid the duel, imposing on Bill to surrender. The latter, with a stratagem, succeeds in hurting him but is inevitably killed by Doc. The two, finally reappointed, share with all the money recovered.

Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou (Volos, 29 marzo 1943) è un polistrumentista e compositore greco di musica elettronica e new age, noto con il nome d'arte di Vangelis. Fra le sue opere più acclamate compaiono alcune colonne sonore come quelle per i film Momenti di gloria (con cui vinse l'oscar), Blade Runner, Antarctica, Missing - Scomparso, 1492 - La conquista del paradiso, Alexander, Luna di fiele.

Vangelis inizia a comporre a 4 anni ed è autodidatta per gran parte delle sue conoscenze musicali. Si rifiuta di prendere lezioni e tuttora non ha una conoscenza base sulla lettura e scrittura di note musicali. Nei primi anni sessanta fonda il gruppo pop Forminx, che diviene popolare in Grecia. Durante la rivolta studentesca del 1968 si trasferisce a Parigi e fonda il gruppo di rock progressivo Aphrodite's Child con Demis Roussos e Loukas Sideras.

Vangelis inizia la sua carriera da solista nell'anno 1973 con la composizione delle colonne sonore di due film del produttore francese Frédéric Rossif. Il suo primo album da solista è Earth (1973). Dopo essersi trasferito a Londra, firma un contratto con la RCA e inizia a lavorare nel suo studio di registrazione privato (Nemo Studios). In questi anni produce alcuni dei suoi album più famosi, come Heaven and Hell (1975), Spiral (1977) e China (1979).

Assieme a Jon Anderson (cantante degli Yes) pubblica diversi dischi negli anni ottanta e novanta con il nome di Jon & Vangelis. Ha inoltre collaborato con alcuni artisti italiani, in qualità di arrangiatore: Riccardo Cocciante, Claudio Baglioni, Milva, Patty Pravo, Krisma. Gli album italiani dove è preponderante il suo influsso sono E tu... di Claudio Baglioni, dove le melodie delle tastiere richiamano quelle già utilizzate dagli Aphrodite's Child, e Concerto per Margherita di Riccardo Cocciante.

Nel 1982 vince l'Oscar per la colonna sonora del film Momenti di gloria di Hugh Hudson. Nello stesso anno inizia la collaborazione con il regista Ridley Scott per il quale scrive la colonna sonora per Blade Runner, divenuta presto un cult, come d'altronde il film stesso. Per lo stesso regista firmerà, qualche anno più tardi la riuscita colonna sonora di 1492 - La conquista del paradiso. La più grande popolarità gli giunge appunto per la composizione di queste famose colonne sonore, nelle quali unisce melodie eleganti a sonorità d'atmosfera, piegando voce umana, strumenti classici e suoni elettronici al servizio di una musica sempre molto suggestiva ed evocatrice.

Nel 1997 è uno dei protagonisti della cerimonia d'apertura dei Campionati del mondo di atletica leggera 1997 di Atene: in più riprese, durante la serata, Vangelis suona alcuni dei suoi pezzi più famosi accompagnato dall'orchestra e dal coro. Alcuni commentatori attribuiscono a questa performance un peso importante nella successiva assegnazione dei giochi olimpici alla capitale greca per l'edizione del 2004.

Nel 2001, Vangelis registra Mythodea, una composizione scritta originariamente nel 1993 e utilizzata dalla NASA come il tema per la missione 2001 Mars Odyssey. In uno dei pochissimi concerti della sua carriera, Vangelis si esibisce al tempio di Zeus Olimpio di Atene ed esegue l'intero disco accompagnato da un'orchestra sinfonica e da un coro. Da questo concerto verrà realizzato un DVD che a tutt'oggi rimane l'unica documentazione ufficiale di un'esibizione dal vivo di Vangelis, se si escludono alcune sporadiche apparizioni televisive o un'esibizione trasmessa dalla tv olandese nel 1991, che però era completamente in playback. Nel bis del concerto, Vangelis ha eseguito Momenti di Gloria suonando il celeberrimo tema accompagnato dall'orchestra, mentre il pubblico, agitando delle torce, rendeva ancora più suggestivo e affascinante lo scenario in cui si svolgeva l'esibizione.

Nel 2002 compone l'inno del campionato mondiale di calcio 2002, in cui Vangelis unisce le musiche trionfali alle sonorità orientali. Di questo brano vengono realizzati molti remix, di cui la versione composta col sintetizzatore in Italia è stato utilizzata nelle trasmissioni sportive RAI dedicate all'evento. Nel 2004 viene pubblicata la colonna sonora del film Alexander, diretto da Oliver Stone e basato sulla vita di Alessandro Magno. Nel 2007 Vangelis pubblica due album. Il primo è un set di 3 cd per il venticinquesimo anniversario dell'uscita di Blade Runner, intitolato Blade Runner Trilogy. Il secondo è la colonna sonora per il film El Greco, basato sulla vita del pittore ellenico-spagnolo. Nell'autunno del 2008, realizza la traccia principale per Swiadectwo (intitolato Testimony al di fuori della Polonia), un documentario sulla vita del pontefice Giovanni Paolo II; il resto della colonna sonora è invece affidato al compositore polacco Robert Janson.

Stile Musicale
Artista new age specializzato in colonne sonore, Vangelis fa spesso uso di strumentazioni elettroniche, quali il sintetizzatore, che alterna a quelle acustiche. Si ispira sovente al rock e, secondo le parole del giornalista musicale John Schaefer, "non è propriamente classico (...) e, pur adottando l'improvvisazione, non è certamente jazz." Con il passare degli anni, l'artista ha sempre più preso le distanze dalla musica elettronica per concentrarsi sull'orchestra.

Dopo un esordio che risente la lezione degli Aphrodite's Child: Dragon (1971) avrebbe pubblicato Earth (1973) che, così come Heaven and Hell (1975) e la colonna sonora di Albedo 0.39 (1976) inserisce elementi rock. Con gli album pubblicati dalla metà degli anni settanta, avrebbe composto in prevalenza tracce con elementi pop e jazz, che sono state definite "viaggi ipnotici di ritmi assortiti". Il decennio si sarebbe chiuso con album quali il cupo e poco accessibile Beauborg (197 e Opera Sauvage (1979), dalle sonorità liriche e orchestrali. Se Chariots of Fire (1982) è in buona parte "melodico, proto-smooth jazz" è caratterizzato da "suoni puliti, lustri stridii elettronici e archi", Antarctica (1983) rappresenterebbe "il picco spirituale dell'artista con la sua armonia radiosa per strati di sintetizzatori, arpe e violini." Con The Mask (1985), preceduto dall'altrettanto sperimentale Invisible Connections, (1985) l'artista avrebbe proposto un disco dalle sonorità ipnotiche e drammatiche mentre Oceanic (1996) segna una svolta verso brani più meditativi.

William Garin e Pedro Tovar sono due mercenari provenienti dall'Europa che giungono in Cina con una missione: recuperare un po' di polvere nera, una sorta di antenata della polvere da sparo, per poterla esportare nel continente europeo. I due fanno parte di un piccolo gruppo di uomini ma, durante le ricerche, riescono a sopravvivere all'assalto di una terrificante bestia sconosciuta (di cui conservano un arto reciso) che però uccide gli altri componenti del gruppo. Scappando da una tribù delle montagne, i due mercenari vengono bloccati dalla Grande Muraglia che improvvisamente gli si staglia davanti: vengono quindi catturati dalle truppe imperiali dell'esercito cinese, ma l'arto della bestia che portano con loro fornisce ai cinesi l'indicazione che le bestie sono molto più vicine di quanto immaginassero. L'attacco infatti avviene poco dopo e William e Pedro, ancora in catene, vengono liberati per combattere le mostruose creature, chiamate "Taotie", le quali ogni sessant'anni circa minacciano l'umanità......

Sirena, Nixie e Lyla sono tre sirene appartenenti a una comunità stabilitasi nelle acque dell'Isola Mako, il cui compito è proteggere la pozza della luna e impedire che degli estranei entrino in contatto con la magia del luogo. In una notte di Luna piena, però, trascurano il loro dovere e il sedicenne Zac, in campeggio insieme all'amico Cam, cade nell'acqua magica: la mattina successiva, il giovane si sveglia scoprendo che, entrando in contatto con i liquidi, si trasforma in un tritone, e che ha acquisito varie abilità soprannaturali. L'incidente costringe la comunità delle sirene ad andarsene da Mako, bandendo Sirena, Nixie e Lyla per la loro negligenza. Convinte di poter essere reintegrate nella comunità, le ragazze, grazie all'anello lunare della sorella di Sirena, ottengono le gambe e si trasferiscono sulla terraferma al fine di cogliere Zac di sorpresa e rubargli i poteri.

All'incirca trent'anni dopo la battaglia di Endor e la distruzione della seconda Morte Nera, Luke Skywalker, l'ultimo Jedi, è scomparso. Sia la Resistenza, una forza militare sostenuta dalla Nuova Repubblica e guidata dal generale Leia Organa, sia il sinistro Primo Ordine, nato dalle ceneri dell'Impero Galattico, perlustrano la galassia nel tentativo di trovarlo.
Poe Dameron, il miglior pilota della Resistenza, viene mandato su Jakku per incontrarsi con l'anziano Lor San Tekka e recuperare una mappa che si crede conduca a Luke. Allo stesso tempo anche il Primo Ordine sta cercando di recuperare la mappa; il misterioso Kylo Ren atterra su Jakku e attacca il villaggio in cui si trova Poe. Quest'ultimo nasconde la mappa nel suo droide, BB-8, e lo manda via. Kylo uccide Tekka, cattura Poe e ordina agli assaltatori di massacrare gli abitanti del villaggio.

Quest’ uomo di mare, che ama le risse e le bevute, è un uomo di buon cuore ma di carente cultura e dimostra la sua forza soprattutto nel momento in cui ingoia per intero un barattolo di spinaci, che gli attribuiscono una forza sovrumana, e così è pronto ad affrontare i suoi avversari con colpi letali prima ancora che questi abbiano il tempo di reagire.
