Il 22 giugno 1983 Emanuela Orlandi, quindicenne cittadina vaticana, figlia di un messo pontificio, sparisce nel nulla dal centro di Roma, dando inizio a uno dei più clamorosi casi irrisolti mai accaduti in Italia e conosciuto anche fuori da essa. L'ultimo giorno della prima missione umana su Marte, un membro dell'equipaggio di Tantalus Base crede di aver fatto una scoperta sorprendente, la prova fossile di vita batterica. Non volendo lasciare che l'equipaggio si prenda tutta la gloria, egli disobbedisce agli ordini e inizia una spedizione non autorizzata per raccogliere ulteriori campioni. Trama:
La serie è ambientata nel South Side di Chicago. La serie segue le vicende della disastrata e povera famiglia Gallagher, composta dal padre alcolizzato/drogato Frank e dai figli Fiona, la più grande, che a 12 anni inizia a prendersi cura degli altri fratelli quali Philip o semplicemente "Lip", Ian, Debbie, Carl e Liam. La mamma di questi ragazzi, Monica, li abbandona a causa dell'insopportabile Frank e del bipolarismo che l'affligge.

Questo agglomerato di persone è molto distante dall'idea tradizionale di famiglia: Frank non riesce a comportarsi da padre, e passa la maggior parte del suo tempo all'Alibi, un bar gestito da Kevin Ball e sua moglie, Veronica Fisher, vicini di casa dei Gallagher. Arriva al punto di trasferirsi da Sheila Jackson, madre della fidanzata di suo figlio Lip, per comodità e maggior disponibilità economica, dato che percepisce una pensione di invalidità a causa della sua agorafobia, a causa della quale non uscirà di casa per 5 anni.

Fiona è quella che si crede sia la figlia maggiore, che sembra essersi sobbarcata l'enorme peso dell'intera famiglia.

A teenage girl, from Mystic Fall, is torn between two vampire brothers, who are quite the opposite.

La storia continua con una nuovissima stagione con ben 16 episodi. La serie è sempre prodotta da Kevin Williamson e Julie Plec e trae ispirazione dalla saga di libri della scrittrice Lisa James Smith, dal titolo italiano 'Il diario del Vampiro'.

In Virginia, a Mystic Falls, ha luogo l'ormai noto triangolo amoroso tra la studentessa Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) e i due fratelli-vampiri Stefan (Paul Wesley) e Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).
Stefan è un vampiro dal 1864, si ciba di sangue animale ed è tormentato dalla presenza del fratello Damon che, a differenza sua, si ciba di esseri umani. I due sono diventati vampiri a causa della stessa donna, della quale erano innamorati: Katherine Pierce, doppleganger di Elena. Così, ironia della sorte, i due fratelli si innamorano anche della studentessa ed entrano a far parte della sua vita e di quella dei suoi amici, che saranno quindi coinvolti nelle misteriose vicende che aleggiano a Mystic Falls.

Nella scorsa stagione avevamo visto situazioni difficili, come dimenticare la disperazione di Damon ed i tentativi di Bonnie (Katerina Graham) per consolarlo, instaurando con lui una forte e solida amicizia, e, nel mentre, Caroline (Candice King) e Stefan provare ad amarsi davvero, pur con i tanti ostacoli. In questi nuovi episodi non mancheranno i colpi di scena, i problemi, le trasformazioni e, forse, quale ricomparsa inaspettata!

Il finale di stagione vi lascerà senza parole, dall'incredibile ruolo che avrà Elena, all'inaspettata morte di uno degli altri personaggi ...
Stefan subirà un'importante trasformazione e anche per Caroline le cose non saranno semplici!

È il 1995 e due ragazzi inglesi, Gary Shoefield e Ray Santilli, amici fin dall’infanzia, inscenarono la più grande truffa sugli alieni della storia. I due infatti realizzarono un video, che poi vendettero a caro prezzo alle televisioni di mezzo mondo, sull’autopsia a un corpo tutt’altro che umano, anzi alieno. I ragazzi dichiararono di aver scoperto un video dell’esercito americano del 1947 in cui c’erano le prove dell’esistenza di forme non umane sulla terra...

[spoiler]Non è semplice raccontare la storia “vera” su cui si basa questo film perché dal 1995 a oggi di cose sul filmato di Santilli ne sono state dette, e, puntualmente contraddette, a bizzeffe. Una spinta fondamentale l’ha data internet che ha espanso la questione fino all’inverosimile dando vita ad eserciti di sostenitori contrapposti a detrattori non meno agguerriti pronti a smontare ogni singolo fotogramma del video. Per chi non sapesse a cosa mi riferisco, sto parlando dell’ormai mitico filmato che Ray Santilli acquistò negli Stati Uniti da un ex cineoperatore militare, riguardante l’autopsia un essere alieno prelevato nel sedicente ufo crash di Roswell. In realtà oltre all’autopsia dell’umanoide, si dice che Santilli abbia comprato ventidue bobine da tre minuti ciascuna comprendenti delle riprese effettuate sul luogo dell’incidente, e il cosiddetto “video della tenda”. Ma anche in questo caso, come in tutto il resto della vicenda, ci sono informazioni contraddittorie in quanto si parla di ben 25 bobine. E confusa è pure la figura dell’ex militare, tale Jack Barnett, che pare essere stato sì nell’esercito ma fino al ’45. Per non parlare delle analisi effettuate sulla pellicola originale: alcuni affermano che la Kodak non abbia mai ricevuto frammenti della bobina, altri che non solo li avrebbe ricevuti ma che avrebbe confermato una datazione vicina a quella riferita. Insomma, un gran bel casino. Questo film, girato nel 2006, è una godibile ricostruzione dei fatti presentata come il racconto di Santilli e il socio Gary ad un regista interessato alla loro storia. Non so se il vero Santilli abbia partecipato alla stesura completa del plot, ma penso di sì dato che viene accreditato come produttore ed appare in coda al film, in ogni caso ciò che emerge è presto detto: un filmato, reale o finto non si sa, c’era. E solo Santilli l’ha visto. Quello che invece ha visto il resto del mondo è un tarocco con la T maiuscola. Sì perché secondo la ricostruzione una volta che Santilli acquistò la bobina da Barnett (che qui si chiama Harvey ed è interpretato dal grande caratterista Harry Dean Stanton), al suo ritorno in Inghilterra la pellicola si era ormai irrimediabilmente – o forse no – danneggiata. Così per sfuggire dalle mani di un perfido riccastro a cui aveva promesso di vendere il filmato, decise di ricostruire il video. La sensazione è che la verità non la sapremo mai, soprattutto per bocca di Santilli che con questo filmato ci ha guadagnato una barcata di soldi vendendolo alle tv di mezzo mondo e di far luce sulla vicenda penso sia l’ultima cosa che desidera. Quello di infettare con fantomatiche prove false lo scenario ufologico, si dice sia una delle manovre più diffuse da parte dei governi per coprire la verità. E una delle tante ipotesi sul Santilli Footage sosterrebbe che questo filmato è sì finto, ma creato appositamente dalle forze americane per sviare l’attenzione su qualcos’altro, anche se rimangono mille e più dubbi.[/spoiler]
