La pellicola si apre con la scena finale del primo film: Elastigirl e Mr. Incredibile stanno tentando di fermare il Minatore
dallo svaligiare la banca di Metroville, mentre chiedono ai figli Violetta e Flash di badare al fratellino Jack-Jack. Presa
da un attacco di frustrazione, dovuto al compito affidatole dai genitori, Violetta si leva la maschera rivelando la sua
identità a Tony Rydinger, un ragazzo con cui aveva un appuntamento. Nel frattempo, nel tentativo di fermare il Minatore,
gli Incredibili, aiutati anche da Siberius, provocano ingenti danni all’arredo urbano e all’arrivo della polizia vengono
arrestati mentre il Minatore fugge con parte dei soldi rubati. Una volta rilasciati vengono informati della sospensione
del programma di protezione governativo e vengono portati in un Motel, dove promettono di abbandonare per sempre la loro
vita da Super. Inoltre l'agente Dicker, informato da Mr. Incredibile dell'incidente tra Violetta e Tony, cancella la
memoria di quest'ultimo.

Quella sera Lucius, sfuggito all'arresto, informa Bob e Helen di un'offerta presentatagli da un certo Winston Deavor,
un fanatico di supereroi proprietario di un'azienda di telecomunicazioni chiamata DevTech. Winston, insieme alla sorella
Evelyn, propone di far pubblicità ai Supereroi per far loro riconquistare la fiducia alla cittadinanza, facendo vedere
ciò che accade realmente ai Super durante le battaglie (e non ciò che i politici decidono di mostrare, cioè solo gli
effetti collaterali delle loro imprese), dotandoli di microcamere installate sulle tute. Winston vuole che i Super
tornino ad agire nella legalità perché attribuisce al governo...

La pellicola si apre con la scena finale del primo film: Elastigirl e Mr. Incredibile stanno tentando di fermare il Minatore
dallo svaligiare la banca di Metroville, mentre chiedono ai figli Violetta e Flash di badare al fratellino Jack-Jack. Presa
da un attacco di frustrazione, dovuto al compito affidatole dai genitori, Violetta si leva la maschera rivelando la sua
identità a Tony Rydinger, un ragazzo con cui aveva un appuntamento. Nel frattempo, nel tentativo di fermare il Minatore,
gli Incredibili, aiutati anche da Siberius, provocano ingenti danni all’arredo urbano e all’arrivo della polizia vengono
arrestati mentre il Minatore fugge con parte dei soldi rubati. Una volta rilasciati vengono informati della sospensione
del programma di protezione governativo e vengono portati in un Motel, dove promettono di abbandonare per sempre la loro
vita da Super. Inoltre l'agente Dicker, informato da Mr. Incredibile dell'incidente tra Violetta e Tony, cancella la
memoria di quest'ultimo.

Quella sera Lucius, sfuggito all'arresto, informa Bob e Helen di un'offerta presentatagli da un certo Winston Deavor,
un fanatico di supereroi proprietario di un'azienda di telecomunicazioni chiamata DevTech. Winston, insieme alla sorella
Evelyn, propone di far pubblicità ai Supereroi per far loro riconquistare la fiducia alla cittadinanza, facendo vedere
ciò che accade realmente ai Super durante le battaglie (e non ciò che i politici decidono di mostrare, cioè solo gli
effetti collaterali delle loro imprese), dotandoli di microcamere installate sulle tute. Winston vuole che i Super
tornino ad agire nella legalità perché attribuisce al governo...

Stefano, un giovane pittore, è chiamato a restaurare un affresco, terrificante opera di un folle morto suicida. Kylie Minogue is one of the world’s best-loved popstars and she’s enjoyed over 27 years of success in the music industry. Last year she released her 12th studio album Kiss Me Once and commercially it performed disappointingly for Kylie. Despite peaking at number 2 in the UK charts, and topping the charts in her native Australia, Kiss Me Once failed to spawn any hit singles and the album hasn’t matched the kind of sales that Kylie is accustomed to. Last autumn she hit the road for the Kiss Me Once tour, which despite the disappointing performance of the album, was a huge success for her.

Recently Kylie has released Kiss Me Once Live at the SSE Hydro capturing the Glasgow date of her tour. The release comes as a DVD or Blu-ray pack that features two CDs so you can listen to the show whenever you want. As is to be expected from a Kylie show, Kiss Me Once Live is a mixture of classic hits and selections from her latest album. If there’s one thing Kylie knows how to do, it’s to give her fans what they want and she never fails to deliver.

Kiss Me Once Live opens with Les Sex, a track from Kiss Me Once, but it doesn’t take long for Kylie to bring out the classics. The popstar has had so many hits over the years that it must be a nightmare for her to pick a set list but with the Kiss Me Once Live song selections she gets it almost right. There are high-energy performances of classics such as Wow, Step Back In Time and Spinning Around. One of the highlights of the show is when Kylie pays homage to her classic music videos for a medley of Enjoy Yourself, Hand On Your Heart, Never Too Late, Got To Be Certain and I Should Be So Lucky.

There are a couple of tracks included here that we could have done without. Sexercize is a bit of a misfire on all fronts for Kylie as she tries to channel her inner Rihanna, and Beautiful is fairly dull (and lacking in Enrique Iglesias, who appears on the album version of the track).

Visually Kiss Me Once Live is one of the more stripped-back Kylie arena tours she’s done. Whilst there is plenty of dancing, the visual spectacle isn’t on par with previous tours such as the Aphrodite tour or even the X tour. Instead the focus is more on the performance and Kylie is such an engaging and mesmerising performer that the lack of spectacle isn’t a huge deal.

The show comes to a close with the double whammy of All The Lovers and Into The Blue. All The Lovers remains one of Kylie’s finest singles in recent memory and we can see why she sequenced it next to Into The Blue as the two songs are similar in sound and style.

Extras on the release include Kylie’s collaboration with Garibay, Sleepwalker, along with several screen visuals used during the live show.

Kylie Minogue Kiss Me Once Live at the SSE Hydro is a nice momento for fans who went to the shows or those who couldn’t make it. Any Kylie fan will want to have it in their collection and the inclusion of two audio CDs capturing all the songs from the show is a real bonus. Kylie excels as a live performer and even if her new music doesn’t set the charts on fire, she’ll always have a loyal fanbase that wants to see her performing live.

Claude D'Anna's film of Verdi's Macbeth is a gloomy affair, stressing the descent into madness of the principal villains. It's acted by the singers of the Decca recording of the opera (with two substitutions of actors standing in for singers) and the lip-synching is generally unobtrusive. The musical performance is superb, conducted by Riccardo Chailly with admirable fire, and sung by some of the leading lights of the opera stages of the 1980s. Shirley Verrett virtually owned the role of Lady Macbeth at the time, and she delivers a terrific performance, the voice equal to the role's wide register leaps and it's suffused with emotion, whether urging her husband on to murder or maddened by guilt in the Sleepwalking Scene. Leo Nucci's resonant Macbeth may lack the ultimate in vocal color and steadiness (his last notes of the great aria Pietà, rispetto, amore are wobbly) but he compensates with intensity in both singing and acting. Samuel Ramey's sonorous bass is the soundtrack Banquo, who's acted by Johan Leysen. Philip Volter is the actor playing Macduff to the brilliant tenor of Veriano Luchetti. So there's little to fault in this performance of a middle-period Verdi opera that's all too rarely done these days despite its Shakespearean pedigree and tuneful but dramatic score.

This film version was hailed in Europe when it was released, but some viewers may find it excessively gloomy while others will feel it suits the dark tale of ambition, crime, and madness. D'Anna's witches are primordial creatures first seen crawling out of the slime of a corpse-filled battlefield. Most of the film takes place in Macbeth's castle, shot in an actual 10th-century Belgian castle's subterranean series of rooms, armories, dungeons, and tunnels. Lady Macbeth's Letter Scene is filmed with Verrett wandering down staircases and through tunnels, all in long shots. Duncan's arrival is like a traveling circus troupe, preceded by a fire eater and a juggler, the king carried in a covered litter, only his hand emerging to be kissed by Macbeth and to stroke the head of the man about to murder him. Banquo's ghost is made visible, seated on Macbeth's throne during the debaucheries of the Banquet Scene.

These and other directorial choices are driven by D'Anna's personal vision of the play and the music, often taking his cue from the latter, as in Duncan's arrival which Verdi set to jaunty orchestral music. Others reflect his linkage of crime with the Macbeth couple's sexual dependence. But his vision of the narrative and of specific scenes doesn't violate Shakespeare's story or Verdi's opera, though there will be moments when sensitive viewers may prefer to glance away from the sheer ugliness of the witches or wonder why the singers occasionally turn their backs to the cameras in mid-aria. Much is explained though, in the 45-minute film on the second DVD on the making of the film in which the sheer physical obstacles of the project are explicated and the director's choices clarified.
