David Bowie ?– The Buddha Of Suburbia

The Buddha of Suburbia è un album del 1993 del cantautore inglese David Bowie che costituì la colonna sonora dell'omonima miniserie televisiva trasmessa in quattro parti dalla BBC2 (a sua volta un adattamento dall'omonimo romanzo di Hanif Kureishi). L'album è il 19º album registrato completamente in studio da David Bowie, e si colloca tra Black Tie White Noise, anch'esso pubblicato nel 1993, e 1.Outside, del 1995. Fu prodotto e missato a Mountain Studios, a Montreux in Svizzera, e secondo Bowie ci vollero solamente sei giorni per scriverlo e registrarlo, ma quindici giorni per missarlo a causa di "guasti tecnici".
L'album è stato considerato una colonna sonora, sebbene sia la sola traccia del titolo ad essere stata eseguita nel programma televisivo. Due delle tracce di musica d'ambiente sono strumentali e riprendono fedelmente il lavoro svolto da Bowie con Brian Eno nei tardi anni settanta. Nelle altre tracce dell'album vengono impiegati a piene mani il sassofono, la tastiera elettronica e il pianoforte.

Autosprint è un settimanale italiano specializzato in automobilismo, edito dalla Conti Editore

La rivista fu fondata a Torino nel 1961 dalla giornalista Renata Anselmo e ceduta l'anno successivo all'editore Luciano Conti di Bologna, che nel 1966 chiamò in redazione il giornalista Marcello Sabbatini, promosso alla direzione nel 1968. La crescita di Autosprint era seguita con favore da Enzo Ferrari, amico di Conti e di Sabbatini, che riteneva insufficiente, rispetto al presumibile interesse degli appassionati, lo spazio dedicato alle gare automobilistiche dalle testate tradizionali, come Quattroruote e L'Auto Italiana, e caldeggiava la creazione di una testata esclusivamente dedita al settore delle competizioni automobilistiche.

Per qualche tempo Ferrari fu anche collaboratore di Autosprint, firmando la rubrica "Il tunnel". Il periodico, inizialmente quindicinale, ebbe un gradimento crescente da parte del pubblico. Nel 1966 Autosprint divenne settimanale e cominciò a uscire in edicola ogni martedì (lunedì in alcuni periodi). Poté così sfruttare i vantaggi di un'informazione d'attualità sulle corse del fine settimana appena trascorso. A causa del crescente interesse per l'automobilismo, negli anni '70 e '80 la tiratura crebbe notevolmente per stabilizzarsi, negli anni settanta e ottanta, sulle 200.000 copie. Sotto la direzione di Sabbatini Autosprint toccò il suo apice nel giorno della vittoria di Jody Scheckter in Formula 1 con la Scuderia Ferrari nel Gran Premio d'Italia 1979 a Monza quando arrivò a toccare la tiratura record di 300.000 copie.

Per alcuni anni negli anni 70 la rivista fu affiancata da un mensile "Autosprint Mese", dedicato agli approfondimenti e ai reportage fotografici, e dalla trasmissione televisiva TeleSprint, in onda sul circuito Elefante Tv.

Nel 1981 Marcello Sabbatini, dopo contrasti con l'editore di allora, lasciò la direzione del settimanale per fondare Rombo, un'altra rivista di automobilismo. Venne sostituito da Gianni Cancellieri che era stato redattore di Autosprint dal 1962 al 1968. Nel 1984 la direzione del settimanale passò prima a Italo Cucci, l'anno successivo a Carlo Cavicchi che la tenne per 14 anni lasciando l'incarico nel 1999, sostituito da Guido Schittone. Dopo di lui al timone del settimanale si alternarono Ivan Zazzaroni (2001), Tommaso Valentinetti (2003) e Roberto Boccafogli (2005). Nel 2007 alla direzione di Autosprint fu nominato Alberto Sabbatini, figlio di Marcello, che ricoprì per nove anni l'incarico di direttore sia del settimanale, sia del mensile Auto, appartenente alla medesima casa editrice.

Nel novembre 2016 gli è succeduto Andrea Cordovani, già caporedattore della stessa rivista

La rivista, che esce ogni martedì nelle edicole, tratta principalmente dei maggiori campionati nazionali e internazionali disputati nelle varie discipline sportive dell'automobilismo e altri argomenti correlati all'automobile.

Geremia, un contrabbandiere di sigarette, si lascia convincere dal cognato Augusto a far passare clandestinamente il confine fra Italia e Svizzera a uno sconosciuto disposto a pagare, per "il favore", un milione di lire. Giunto il momento, costui si lascia prendere dalla fretta, incappa nei finanzieri, reagisce sparando dei colpi di pistola ma ci lascia la pelle. Geremia e Augusto, aperte le sue borse, s'accorgono che sono piene di soldi, per un totale di due miliardi di lire, e decidono di tenerseli. Un industriale, un banchiere e il sindaco di un paese - proprietari di quel denaro già destinato alle banche svizzere - sapendo quasi con certezza in quali mani è finito, tentano di tutto per rientrarne in possesso. Favoriti dalla ingenuità e dalla viltà di Augusto, sembrano riuscirci. Ma Geremia è così furbo da giocarli; fugge quindi in Svizzera, con quasi tutto il malloppo.

Two brothers-in-law, a smuggler and the other traffic policeman, get hold of a large sum of money, destined for illegal exportation to Switzerland, after the courier is killed in a fire fight with the border police. The owners of the money, which occupy an important social position, try in every way to recover it, also leveraging the weakness of the policeman. After the petty betrayal of his brother-in-law, the smuggler decides to keep all the money and flee to Switzerland.

Per vendicarsi di Turner, che gli ha anche ammazzato un amico, Hezard comincia, aiutato da una squadra di esperti imbroglioni, con lo strappare al "boss" - costretto a versarglieli per evitare guai maggiori - duecentomila franchi svizzeri.

A Golden City impera la cricca di Fred, lo sceriffo, mentre le miniere d'oro sembrano esaurite. Ma Pepito, che vien preso per un rabdomante, scopre dei nuovi giacimenti auriferi. La sera i cercatori d'oro festeggiano nel saloon la scoperta: anche Pepito, malgrado i consigli della soubrette Susnna, che si è innamorata di lui, gioca alla roulette e, favorito dalla fortuna, porta via a Fred tutto il suo denaro, diventando l'uomo più ricco di Golden City.

Pepito, a poor peon, goes to Golden City, hoping to find an auriferous strand, which allows him to enrich and then conquer the heart of the cruel Carmen. In Golden City, the sheriff's clique is ruled by Fred, while the gold mines seem to be exhausted. But Pepito, who is taken for a dowser, discovers new gold deposits. In the evening the gold diggers celebrate the discovery in the saloon: even Pepito, despite the advice of the soubrette Susnna, who has fallen in love with him, plays roulette and, favored by luck, takes away all his money from Fred, becoming the richest man in Golden City.

La banda Conti rapisce il figlio d'un ricco ingegnere lombardo e uccide un poliziotto privato che l'aveva smascherata. Rambo, usando come esca il cospicuo riscatto (due miliardi), mette la banda dei vecchio Paternò contro quella del Conti, sicché i due gruppi quasi si sterminano. Solo contro i superstiti spietati ed esasperati, conclude lo sterminio liberando il ragazzo. Il vecchio Paternò, ormai isolato e umiliato, si suicida, e Rambo riparte a cavallo della sua moto.

Trova due giovani complici in Vittorio e Carmine. Dopo una sequela allucinante di omicidi, Marilù è rapita. Interviene la polizia. Il commissario Walter Grassi si convince che il rapitore di Marilù è un folle omicida e consiglia il comm. Porrino di non pagare il mezzo miliardo per il riscatto perché la figlia sarebbe ugualmente uccisa.

When Milano police lieutenant Giorga's chief is murdered by an organized crime ring, he vows to avenge his boss's death. Going undercover to continue the chief's investigation, he plans to take over a pimping outfit and then proceed to beat up enough low-level thugs until the big guys in the crime ring take notice of him, letting him get close enough to uncover their secrets. Should this unorthodox method actually work, he still must take down the entire organization single-handed.
