The story behind Detective James Gordon's rise to prominence in Gotham City in the years before Batman's arrival.

'Gotham' darà molte soddisfazioni ai fan di Batman nella sua quinta e ultima stagione.
In aggiunta a un Jeremiah (Cameron Monaghan) sempre più simile a Joker e a una Selina (Camren Bicondova) diventata in tutto e per tutto Catwoman, si possono ammirare nella loro intera gloria Harley Quinn (Francesca Root-Dodson) e Bane (Shane West). Bane in particolare, che inizieremo a conoscere come 'Eduardo Dorrance', sarà una presenza prominente in una Gotham City ormai ostaggio della criminalità. Tuttavia, Jim (Ben McKenzie) capirà ben presto che le sue reali intenzioni sono di gran lunga più oscure di quanto ha voluto fargli credere. Nel frattempo, il giovane Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) è lanciato verso la trasformazione ultima nel vigilante che tutti conosciamo e amiamo. E su questo ci sono pochi dubbi.

The story behind Detective James Gordon's rise to prominence in Gotham City in the years before Batman's arrival.

'Gotham' darà molte soddisfazioni ai fan di Batman nella sua quinta e ultima stagione.
In aggiunta a un Jeremiah (Cameron Monaghan) sempre più simile a Joker e a una Selina (Camren Bicondova) diventata in tutto e per tutto Catwoman, si possono ammirare nella loro intera gloria Harley Quinn (Francesca Root-Dodson) e Bane (Shane West). Bane in particolare, che inizieremo a conoscere come 'Eduardo Dorrance', sarà una presenza prominente in una Gotham City ormai ostaggio della criminalità. Tuttavia, Jim (Ben McKenzie) capirà ben presto che le sue reali intenzioni sono di gran lunga più oscure di quanto ha voluto fargli credere. Nel frattempo, il giovane Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) è lanciato verso la trasformazione ultima nel vigilante che tutti conosciamo e amiamo. E su questo ci sono pochi dubbi.

TRAMA

Dopo molto tempo il detective Lucas McCarthy riesce finalmente ad arrestare il feroce e temuto serial killer Max Jenke, che ha già fatto oltre 100 vittime con la sua mannaia. Condannato, il maniaco viene messo sulla sedia elettrica, ma il criminale invece di morire "ritorna" sotto un'altra entità con energie moltiplicate. Questo permette al maniaco di creare una realtà alternativa e iniziare a perseguitare il poliziotto e la sua famiglia, fino ad infilarsi nottetempo in casa sua e trasformare solaio e cantina in luoghi di bassa macelleria.

Gli anni Cinquanta sono stati per l'America gli anni dell'ottimismo. La guerra era finita, l'economia era in crescita, gli uomini erano tornati a casa e tutte le regole stavano cambiando. Caroline Wolff, divorziata, con un figlio adolescente, rappresenta la tipica icona dell'ottimismo di quell'epoca. Con pochi soldi ma tante speranze, Caroline e il figlio Toby attraversano il paese con la convinzione che le cose stanno per cambiare in meglio anche per loro. L'ex marito di Caroline è rimasto sulla costa est. Sfortunatamente, i tentativi di Caroline di ricominciare da capo sembrano destinati a fallire come quelli del suo passato. I lavori che trova non funzionano, gli uomini che incontra non sono quelli giusti, e continua a viaggiare con Toby fino a che non giungono nel nord-ovest del paese. Qui Caroline incontra Dwight Hansen, il cui ardente corteggiamento nasconde solo in parte la sua spacconeria.

La tecnica cinematografica d’avanguardia adottata, ha reso visibile l’invisibile e impensabili prima d’ora le sequenze dedicate agli animali, quest’ultime proposte con un dettaglio senza precedenti. Non a caso, la voce narrante della serie  – Sir David Attenborough – ha affermato: “Dieci anni fa queste riprese non si potevano fare!”.

Trama:

Un bravo poliziotto non dovrebbe mai lasciarsi condizionare dai sensi di colpa, lo sa benissimo l'ispettore Avraham Avraham, dopo anni di indagini nel suo distretto alla periferia di Tel Aviv. Quando Hanna Sharabi si presenta da lui per denunciare che il figlio sedicenne Ofer quel giorno non è rientrato da scuola, Avraham Avraham la inquadra subito come l'ennesima madre ansiosa pronta a scaricare sulle forze dell'ordine la gestione di un adolescente irrequieto. Le propina il suo solito discorsetto sul perché non esistano libri gialli ambientati in Israele, le ricorda gli innumerevoli, futili motivi per cui un ragazzo può decidere di sparire per qualche ora e le assicura che probabilmente Ofer è già rientrato. Ma Ofer a casa quella sera non c'è, e quando Avraham Avraham si trova di nuovo davanti la donna con la sua disperata richiesta d'aiuto vorrebbe poter recuperare il tempo perduto e allertare subito le squadre di soccorso e iniziare le ricerche. Interroga vicini, compagni di scuola, insegnanti. Ma Ofer sembra svanito nel nulla. A questo punto inizia un'indagine segnata da brusche svolte e drammatici cambiamenti di direzione, nel corso della quale la polizia troverà via via nuovi possibili sospettati, che daranno vita a scenari diversi, capaci ogni volta di spiazzare il lettore e di metterlo di fronte alla incerta natura della verità.
