TRAMA

L'astronave Event Horizon, che funziona come un buco nero, generando con il suo propulsore una poderosa deformazione spazio temporale, durante il viaggio inaugurale scompare, per riapparire sette anni più tardi nei pressi di Nettuno. Non vi è però più alcun segno di vita, e l'equipaggio della "Lewis & Clark" deve indagare su ciò che è accaduto lì dentro. L'astronave, nel suo viaggio attraverso il lato oscuro dell'universo, è divenuta un organismo in grado di materializzare le paure e gli incubi più atroci.

TRAMA

Nel 2077, dopo alcune decine d'anni di una guerra che ha reso la Terra un pianeta arido e devastato, il veterano Jack (Tom Cruise) è uno degli ultimi sopravvissuti. Riparatore di droni, Jack ha il compito di recuperare dalla superficie terrestre le ultime risorse vitali e ha quasi portato a termine la sua missione prima di abbandonare definitivamente il pianeta. Un giorno, però, vicino a lui precipita l'astronave su cui viaggia una misteriosa donna (Olga Kurylenko) e dal loro incontro scaturisce una serie di eventi che costringono Jack a rivedere la sua visione del mondo e ad affrontare pericoli che non aveva previsto per la salvezza dell'intera umanità.

The crew of a naval destroyer is forced to confront the reality of a new existence when a pandemic kills off most of the earth's population.

A seguito di una pandemia globale che ha quasi sterminato la razza umana, l'equipaggio del cacciatorpediniere USS Nathan James, della Marina degli Stati Uniti, cercherà di trovare le cause del virus e una possibile cura. A capo dell’equipaggio troviamo il comandante Tom Chandler (Eric Dane), aiutato dal suo secondo in comando Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) e dalla biologa Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra), la quale è riuscita a trovare il ceppo primordiale del virus e sviluppare una cura alla fine della prima stagione.
Facciamo un salto in avanti di un bel po ‘di tempo. La quarta stagione si è conclusa nel migliore dei modi.
Il capitano Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) è tornato sulla Nathan James ed ha aiutato Slattery e gli altri a salvare il mondo dall’ennesima minaccia. La Nathan James è pronta alla sua prossima avventura.
Dalla quinta stagione la Nathan James non è più sola a solcare i mari. Vediamo infatti Kara (Marissa Neitling) comunicare felicemente via radio che lei e il resto della crew sono felici di non essere più i soli. A risponderle, tra gli altri, c’è anche Andrea (Fay Masterson). Vediamo anche Tom Chandler insegnare a una nuova generazione cosa ha rappresentato per il mondo il virus prima e la carestia poi. Un cyber attacco mette in ginocchio gli States, riportando Tom Chandler nuovamente al timone della missione per salvare il mondo. I responsabili sono, stavolta, i messicani.

"The Last Ship" è una serie televisiva statunitense del 2014 creata da Hank Steinberg e Steven Kane e prodotta, tra gli altri, da Michael Bay. La serie si basa sull'omonimo romanzo del 1988 di William Brinkley.
Nel cast troviamo anche: Charles Parnell (Comandante Hugh Jefer), Travis Van Winkle (Tenente Danny Green), Bridget Regan (Sasha, una vecchia conoscenza di Tom Chandler) e Christina Elmoren (Tenente Alisha Granders). Nella quinta stagione diventano fissi anche Emerson Brooks nel ruolo del Comandante Joseph Meylan e Jodie Turner-Smith che interpreta Azima Kandie.

Isola di Jersey, 1945, subito dopo la fine della Seconda guerra mondiale. Grace Stewart, moglie di Charles, un imprenditore britannico
arruolatosi volontario in guerra, è una donna molto protettiva nei confronti dei suoi due figli, Anne e Nicolas, i quali soffrono di
xeroderma pigmentoso, una malattia che non permette loro di esporsi alla luce del giorno senza gravi conseguenze per la loro salute.
Grace crea quindi delle regole molto rigide all'interno della casa, in modo da proteggere i due bambini da qualsiasi possibilità di
esposizione alla luce. Da queste regole nasce una delle frasi più note del film "nessuna porta deve essere aperta prima che l'ultima sia
stata chiusa”. Inoltre, essendo un'insegnante privata, istruisce lei i suoi bambini, per non esporli al sole, cosa che succederebbe se
uscissero per andare a scuola. Dopo l'arrivo di tre domestici, una vecchia governante di nome Mrs Bertha Mills, l'ancor più anziano
giardiniere Mr Edmund Tuttle e una giovane cameriera muta chiamata Lydia, succedono strani avvnimenti nella casa e Grace inizia a credere
che possano esserci dei fantasmi, gli "altri" (the others)...

Landon Carter, diciotto anni, è un liceale ribelle e senza regole che vive a Beaufort (Carolina del Nord) assieme alla madre divorziata e ha tenuto un cattivo rapporto con il padre, colpevole - a suo dire - di essersene andato di casa ed averli lasciati soli. A scuola, è uno dei ragazzi più popolari del corpo studentesco, corteggiato da diverse ragazze ed ancora oggetto di desiderio di Belinda, la sua ex fidanzata, che, nonostante non stiano più insieme, cerca ancora in ogni modo di farlo riavvicinare a lei. Un giorno, dopo uno scherzo fatto ad un ragazzo più piccolo di lui a seguito del quale il malcapitato finisce in ospedale, il preside, come punizione, lo obbliga a seguire ogni fine settimana dopo le lezioni dei ragazzini problematici e a partecipare all'annuale recita scolastica. Ciò lo porta ad entrare in contatto con Jamie Sullivan, la figlia del Reverendo locale. TRAMA
