L'album vede la partecipazione di numerosi artisti, tra i quali gli Who, i Beach Boys, Eric Clapton, Sting, Kate Bush, Phil Collins, Joe Cocker e Tina Turner; l'intento generale è quello di omaggiare Elton e Bernie, eseguendo delle reinterpretazioni (in tutto 16) di classici composti dal duo. Al progetto partecipa lo stesso Elton, suonando il pianoforte nel brano Come Down in Time (cantato da Sting). Il nome del disco proviene da una canzone eltoniana contenuta nell'album del 1980 21 at 33 (Two Rooms at the End of the World), consacrata al bizzarro e inusuale stile compositivo di Elton e Bernie. Il disco ha ricevuto diversi responsi dalla critica[1]: la canzone più lodata è stata la cover di Sacrifice eseguita da Sinéad O'Connor[2]. La versione reggae di Rocket Man cantata da Kate Bush venne distribuita come singolo e raggiunse una numero 12 UK e una numero 7 in Australia; nel 2007, inoltre, essa vinse un award come Greatest Cover of All Time (Migliore Cover Di Tutti I Tempi) conferitogli dai lettori del periodico britannico The Observer[3]. Vennero distribuite come singoli anche Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me cantata da Oleta Adams e Your Song cantata da Rod Stewart.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are an English rock band formed in 2011 as the solo moniker of former Oasis lead guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher. The band originates from Manchester and includes former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, drummer Jeremy Stacey of The Lemon Trees, The Zutons bassist Russell Pritchard and guitarist Tim Smith. The band also has a variety of guests on their debut album such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus and The Wired Strings.

Since his split from Oasis in August 2009, many speculated that Gallagher might record a solo album. In July 2011, he held a press conference to confirm that this was the case, after denying rumours from his brother Liam Gallagher that he had already heard the tracks featured on it. He also explained that he would be collaborating with Amorphous Androgynous for a second album that is due for release in 2012.

The singles for Gallagher's debut album are "The Death of You and Me", "If I Had a Gun...", "AKA... What a Life!", ""Dream On"" and "Everybody's on the Run". AKA... What a Life! made its debut on a Vauxhall television advertisement.

Gallagher announced that he will begin touring a week after the album is released. He stated, "We're going to go out on tour a week after the album is out. We're going to start off slow in small theatres. If it's good enough to get bigger than that then it'll get bigger than that. I don't think there'll be a huge great big tour this year. I think this year it'll be a quick whizz around the world and try and do the major cities and then it will probably be a bigger tour next year."

Gallagher explained in an interview with Jonathan Ross on The Jonathan Ross Show that the inspiration for the band's name was from two sources. The idea to prefix the name with "Noel Gallagher's" was formed whilst washing up dishes listening to the album Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, while the latter part of the name is taken from the song "High Flying Bird" by Jefferson Airplane.



International Magic Live at The O2 is the debut video album by English rock band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Released on 13 October 2012, the album documents the band's performance at The O2 Arena in London on 26 February 2012, as part of their High Flying Birds Tour. The footage was directed by Dick Carruthers, produced by Carruthers and Jeremy Azis, and features the full performance from the show as well as additional footage from the tour.

Nella terza viene presentata la truffa finanziaria della famiglia Tobin. La quarta si concentra sulla società privata di servizi militari High Star Security Corp. guidata da Howard T. Erickson (John Goodman). Nella quinta il caso riguarda Channing McClaren (Ryan Phillippe), la cui fondazione mette in piazza gli scheletri delle grandi compagnie finanziarie e del Governo. In ogni stagione, oltre ai casi, lo spettatore assiste all'evoluzione dell'intricata relazione che lega le due protagoniste che, talvolta, porta a conseguenze negative.

Trama :

2019. In seguito alla crisi climatica globale gli Stati del mondo collaborano alla costruzione di un sistema satellitare globale in grado di modificare il clima e annullare tempeste, siccità, uragani.

Il sistema prende il nome di Dutch Boy ed è stato messo a punto da oltre seicento persone, provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. L'intero progetto fu affidato a Jake Lawson, che viene convocato a Washington, nel Senato, per aver preso decisioni in modo autonomo, senza aver aspettato nessuna autorizzazione. Jake, alla seduta del Senato, non si comporta molto bene, dimostrando subito di non avere peli sulla lingua. Il fratello Max adesso è il nuovo responsabile del Dutch Boy e come tale prende la dura decisione di licenziare Jake.

Tre anni dopo: Un corpo militare statunitense si trova in missione in Afghanistan ed assiste ad un evento che ha delllo straordinario: in mezzo al deserto c'è stata una bufera di neve, che ha ghiacciato un intero villaggio. Il Presidente indìce una riunione per discutere su quanto appena successo: solo il sottosegretario Max Lawson sembra davvero preoccupato per le condizioni del clima, mentre tutti gli altri pensano a come salvare la faccia dell'America. Lawson propone di inviare nello spazio un team di ingegneri, meccanici e tecnici, con l'obbiettivo di controllare...

Plot :

In 2019, following many natural disasters, an international coalition commissions a system of climate-controlling satellites called "Dutch Boy". After Dutch Boy neutralizes a typhoon, a Senate sub-committee reprimands chief architect Jake Lawson for acting without authorization and replaces him with his brother Max, who works under Secretary of State Leonard Dekkom.

Three years later, as a UN team stationed in Afghanistan comes across a frozen village, Makmoud, an engineer working on the International Climate Space Station (ICSS) steals data from the Afghanistan satellite before being ejected into space. After convincing President Andrew Palma to conduct an investigation, Max convinces Jake to go to the ICSS to investigate. Another satellite increases temperatures in Hong Kong, causing a firenado that nearly kills Max's college friend Cheng Long, the head of Dutch Boy's Hong Kong department.

Jake arrives at ICSS to examine the malfunctioning satellites (which are damaged afterwards and their data erased) with station commander Ute Fassbinder and her crew. Back on Earth, Cheng discovers he has lost login access and warns Max of a global cataclysm known as a "Geostorm" if the malfunction...

Mario Bartoloni è un impiegato milanese della catena Cartier al quale viene proposto uno scambio di sede a Roma col collega Marini. Nell'accordo vi è anche lo scambio della casa tra i due colleghi. Giunto a Roma però Mario scopre che l'intera palazzina è sotto sfratto ad opera della proprietaria dello stabile, la contessa Salviati. Ritrovatosi senza casa, viene prima ospitato dal collega Aldo, che alla fine pur di cacciarlo di casa lo fa sedurre dalla moglie; quindi tenta di sedurre la collega Elvira, benestante ma bruttina, per attaccare cappello, scoprendo però che già mantiene un rozzo amante romano.

Finito a dormire nel negozio dove lavora, viene scoperto e licenziato dal direttore della filiale. Disoccupato e senza casa, si trova quasi per sbaglio a truffare una persona in cerca di alloggio come lui: è l'inizio di una serie di vendite illecite che gli permettono di diventare ben presto ricco. Pur lasciando un alone di mistero sulla provenienza dei suoi guadagni, Mario inizia a frequentare la bella ex collega Marina, ma quando tenta di usare il suo appartamento per l'ennesima truffa, la donna scopre la verità.

Con i soldi delle truffe Mario acquista l'intera palazzina sotto sfratto dalla Salviati, riconquistando Marina; scopre anche che la nobildonna sta per mettere le mani su un appalto per la costruzione di un nuovo caseggiato che comporterà l'abbattimento di varie case e lo sfratto di chi vi abitava; Mario rivendendo la palazzina sottrae l'appalto alla Salviati impedendo la speculazione edilizia della donna e dopo aver sposato Marina torna a Milano, riprendendosi il vecchio appartamento.
