Depeche Mode is an English electronic band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The group's original line-up consisted of Dave Gahan (lead vocals, occasional songwriter since 2005), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter after 1981), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards, chief songwriter 1980-81). Depeche Mode released their debut record in 1981, Speak & Spell, bringing the band onto the English new wave scene. Clarke left the band after the release of the album, leaving the band as a trio to record A Broken Frame, released the following year. Alan Wilder (keyboards, drums, occasional songwriter) officially joined the band afterward, replacing Clarke, while Gore took over lead songwriting duties, establishing a line up that would continue for the next thirteen years.

The band's last albums of the 1980s; Black Celebration and Music for the Masses established them as a dominant force on the mainstream electronic music scene. A highlight of this era was the band's concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl where they drew a crowd in excess of 60,000 people. In the new decade, Depeche Mode released Violator, catapulting them to massive mainstream success. The subsequent album, Songs of Faith and Devotion and the supporting Devotional Tour exacerbated tensions within the band to the point where Alan Wilder quit in 1995, leading to intense media and fan speculation that the band would split. Now a trio once again, the band released Ultra in 1997, recorded at the height of Gahan's near-fatal drug abuse, Gore's alcoholism and Fletcher's depression. The release of Exciter confirmed Depeche Mode's willingness to remain together, the subsequent, and very successful, Exciter Tour being their first tour in support of an original album in eight years since the Devotional Tour although the band had toured in 1998 to support The Singles 86>98 compilation album.

Depeche Mode have had 50 songs in the UK Singles Chart and thirteen top 10 albums in the UK charts, two of which debuted at No. 1. According to EMI, Depeche Mode have sold over 100 million albums and singles worldwide, making them the most commercially successful electronic band in music history. Q magazine calls Depeche Mode "The most popular electronic band the world has ever known" and included the band in the list of the "50 Bands That Changed the World!".

Il 17 settembre 1862, in piena guerra di secessione, il capitano Robert Gould Shaw rimane lievemente ferito durante la battaglia di Antietam e mandato a casa a Boston per congedo medico. A novembre gli viene affidato, su consiglio dell'abolizionista Frederick Douglass, il compito di addestrare e comandare, col grado di colonnello (necessario per comandare un reggimento), il 54º Reggimento Volontari di Fanteria del Massachusetts, composto in prevalenza da ex-schiavi di colore.
Inizialmente presi poco sul serio e derisi, sapranno dimostrarsi soldati coraggiosi che lottano per la libertà della propria patria. Grazie al loro valore sul campo, i membri del 54º avranno l'onore di aprire le ostilità contro Fort Wagner, inespugnabile forte sudista. La battaglia - nota come battaglia di Fort Wagner - non sarà per loro un successo, ma il loro lodevole impegno e il loro senso dell'onore saranno comunque grandi.

Introduzione:

Shinzo, noto in Giappone come Mushranbo (??????? Mashuranb??), è un anime giapponese del 2000, edito in Italia dalla Fox e nel contenitore Fox Kids. Si ambienta in un futuro dove creature note come Enterran hanno preso il controllo della Terra rinominandola Enterra. Qui tre Enterriani devono proteggere l'ultima umana per restaurare la razza umana. L'anime si concentra principalmente sulle avventure che affrontano mentre si impegnano per portare a termine questo compito.

Trama:

La storia è ambientata in un lontano futuro. Mentre la razza umana sembra ormai estinta, la Terra è stata conquistata da esseri creati geneticamente. In un simile scenario, tutte le speranze del genere umano sono affidate all'unica sopravvissuta, Yakumo, una ragazza di 15 anni.Suo padre, uno scienziato, decide, così, di addormentarla, ibernandola per 50 anni. In realtà, la macchina del lungo sonno funziona male e Yakumo resta adormentata per 500 anni.
Quando Yakumo si sveglia, il suo compito è raggiungere Shinzo, il luogo magico dove si racchiude tutta la speranza di pace per gli umani.
Yakumo nel suo viaggio è accompagnata da tre grandi amici. Si tratta di Mushra, Sago e Kutal, tre Enterrans buoni capaci di mutarsi in Hyper Enterrans. Non solo: i tre guerrieri possono fondersi in un unico super-guerriero chiamato Mushrambo, l'ultimo dei samurai...

La serie racconta di un ragazzo, Dylan Maxwell, il tipico buffone della classe che viene accusato ingiustamente di avere commesso un atto vandalico nel parcheggio della scuola, ai danni di 27 insegnanti, imbrattando le loro automobili con dei disegni fallici per un ammontare di 100.000 dollari di danno. Il ragazzo viene espulso dalla scuola, con l'unica prova in possesso dell'accusa: la dichiarazione di un compagno che afferma di avere visto Dylan nell'atto di imbrattare le macchine. L'evento spinge Peter Maldonado, conduttore del telegiornale della scuola, a realizzare un documentario in cui racconta la versione di Dylan ed investiga a proposito dell'atto vandalico, per scagionare quest'ultimo ma soprattutto per scoprire chi è il vero colpevole.

In una piccola città statunitense apre un museo delle cere da un giorno all'altro. La banda formata dal Clyde, il capo e da Dum Dum, Pockets, Snoozy, Softy, Yak Yak e Zippy, a bordo della loro incredibile macchina d'epoca anti-proiettile, la stessa usata in Wacky Races ma qui nominata Chugga-Boom, tentano di proteggere la bella protagonista dai tranelli architettati dal perfido Artiglio Incappucciato (Sylvester Sneekly) che in realtà è il tutore di Penelope e che la vorrebbe eliminare per impossessarsi della sua ricca eredità.

La trama è evidentemente ricalcata su quella dei Pericoli di Pauline ("Perils of Pauline&quot fortunato feuilleton di inizio secolo (poi adattato in diversi serial cinematografici dell'epoca del muto e del bianco e nero) che vedevano una giovane ereditiera messa in situazioni pericolose (come nella famosissima scena della ragazza legata sulle rotaie, diventata un vero e proprio archetipo) da chi voleva appropriarsi della sua fortuna.
