Dopo molto tempo, la Misteri & Affini si riunisce per aiutare Daphne nel suo nuovo lavoro: conduttrice di un programma televisivo che si occupa di presunti casi di maledizioni. Il gruppo si dirige così in Louisiana, dove iniziano, come ai vecchi tempi, a dare la caccia alle presunte apparizioni; tutte, però, si rivelano essere complotti o uomini mascherati. Daphne è delusa e scoraggiata quando, a New Orleans, Scooby Doo e compagni incontrano una ragazza, Lena, che dice di vivere, insieme alla sua padrona Simòne, in un luogo pullulante di fenomeni paranormali: l'isola Mezzaluna, così chiamata perché un tempo vi era morto un famoso pirata conosciuto come Morgan Mezzaluna.

Ospiti nella casa dove Lena lavora come cuoca, i cinque amici presto si rendono conto con orrore che la palude circostante è popolata da zombie; alcuni sono ciò che resta dei cadaveri dei vecchi pirati sbarcati tempo addietro sull'isola al seguito di Morgan Mezzaluna (quindi anche lo zombie del loro capitano), altri soldati della Guerra di Secessione, mentre altri ancora erano ciò che resta di alcuni turisti misteriosamente scomparsi.

Dopo una serie di eventi, Scooby e compagni scopriranno la celata storia dell'isola: Lena e Simòne, più di due secoli prima, facevano parte di un gruppo di coloni adoranti il Dio Gatto giunti nell'atollo per sfuggire alla guerra e fare dell'isola la loro dimora, quando furono attaccati dai pirati di Morgan Mezzaluna, il quale era in cerca di un luogo dove seppellire il suo tesoro. I coloni vennero spinti dai pirati nelle acque della palude infestate dagli alligatori, mentre le due donne, rifugiatesi altrove, furono le uniche sopravvissute. Per vendetta le due donne decisero così di chiedere aiuto alla loro divinità, ed in seguito grazie al sortilegio ricevuto si trasformarono dunque in creature mostruose con fattezze feline e uccisero tutti i pirati di Morgan. Lena e Simòne poterono così vivere per sempre, a patto di assorbire forza vitale dagli esseri umani ad ogni prima luna piena d'autunno, cosa che hanno fatto negli ultimi due secoli in special modo dai turisti da tempo scomparsi in visita sull'isola. Gli zombie incontrati dalla banda nella palude erano quindi il susseguirsi di quasi tutte le vittime delle due creature, che cercavano di avvertire i nuovi arrivati affinché non facessero la loro stessa fine ma che durante ogni trasformazione perdevano qualunque forma di raziocinio divenendo bestie fameliche. Come se non bastasse (e come scopriranno terrorizzati Shaggy e Scooby) persino Jacques, il vecchio traghettatore, è un mostro come Lena e Simòne, avendo le due bisogno di qualcuno che facesse la spola tra l'isola e la terraferma, mentre Beau, il giardiniere della casa, si rivelerà essere un poliziotto giunto sull'isola per risolvere i vari casi di sparizione denunciati negli ultimi anni.

Quando tutto sembrerà perduto, però, il tempo concesso per l'assorbimento della forza vitale scadrà e le due donne e il traghettatore si trasformeranno in un mucchio d'ossa. Con la loro definitiva scomparsa le anime ritroveranno la pace e gli zombie giaceranno al suolo scheletrificati.

GIOCABILITA AI MASSIMI LIVELLI La rinomata qualità del gameplay è stata ulteriormente raffinata e bilanciata per ricreare l'autenticità di questo meraviglioso sport, inclusa una velocità di gioco più realistica. Il Dribbling Strategico permette all'utente di avere un maggior controllo nella fase di possesso, con la possibilità di una migliore protezione della palla, permettendo con il semplice uso della levetta di ottenere realistici e precisi movimenti per ingannare l'intervento del difensore. Real Touch+ aggiunge una nuova dimensione al controllo della palla, con la possibilità di gestirla con tutto il corpo permettendo tocchi con diverse zone dello stesso in base al movimento imprevedibile del pallone. I calci piazzati sono stati rinnovati con un nuovo sistema di punizioni e rigori, insieme all'opzione di scegliere il nuovo sistema del calcio di avvio con un solo giocatore.

INCREDIBILE REALISMO VISIVO Una grafica migliorata che ricrea l'autenticità del calcio, fin nei più minimi dettagli grazie al Real Capture. I benefici includono una realistica gestione dellilluminazione degli stadi per le partite diurne e notturne e la fedele riproduzione dei campi da gioco e il tunnel degli spogliatoi grazie allinclusione di oltre 20.000 dati raccolti al Camp Nou e al Signal Iduna Park. Il modo caratteristico con cui i giocatori si muovono, impostano il tiro e passano la palla è stato riprodotto grazie alle sessioni di motion-capture svolte da KONAMI in ambienti realistici, per dare nuova vita a tutte le animazioni in-game. I movimenti base come camminare, voltarsi e la postura degli atleti sono stati ulteriormente raffinati, mentre i modelli dei giocatori risultano ancora più vari e dettagliati, con una attenzione maniacale che si rifletterà in ogni aspetto: ad esempio, come le divise di gioco calzano su fisici differenti o la riproduzione dei tatuaggi dei giocatori.

MIGLIORAMENTI SIGNIFICATIVI NELLA VERSIONE PC La versione PC ha avuto miglioramenti sostanziali sia in termini di grafica che di contenuti, assicurando una parità qualitativa su tutte le piattaforme.

Arlen viene espulsa dai confini del Texas, abbandonata a se stessa in un deserto senza fine, che è solo l'anticamera del vero inferno: il lotto degli ultimi dell'umanità, gli esiliati, quelli che cercano soltanto di sopravvivere, dopo aver perso il diritto alla cittadinanza. Qui la ragazza incappa subito in un gruppo di persone che non si fa scrupolo di mangiare carne umana, un pezzo alla volta, e diventa lei stessa carne da macello. Ormai senza una gamba e un braccio, riesce a scappare e a raggiungere un altro assembramento, nell'area detta di Comfort, abitato da gente disperata ma se non altro più mite, che pende dalle labbra di un ricco guru che incarna e promette il raggiungimento del "sogno".
