NEKTAR is probably the most German-like of the Seventies British bands, a fame that owes a lot to the town in which this band was founded (Hamburg) and to their stylistic approach (Assimilated to Krautrock). NEKTAR was formed in 1969 by Allan FREEMAN (keyboards & vocals), Roye ALBRIGHTON (guitars & vocals), Derek MOORE (bass, Mellotron & vocals) and Ron HOWDEN (drums).

Their earliest albums were hard rock that drew heavily from the space-rock and PINK FLOYD styles of the same period. The 70's gave them the occasion to issue some masterpieces, like for example "Remember the Future" (1973) and "Recycled" (1975). Each is a conceptual album that is a nice blend of melodic guitar and keyboards with a vocal story. "Journey To The Centre Of The Eye" is a mindblowing epic with lots of echoplex guitar and dual Mellotrons which is quite in tune with the Krautrock stuff going on around them, yet is definitely British. "Tab in the Ocean" and "Magic is a Child" had shorter songs and were less less satisfying. Fortunately there is a compilation album just called NEKTAR (1976) which has all the best bits of the albums and is highly recommended.

Nella sua vita privata è uno stalker informatico e tratta le persone, con le quali ha difficoltà a rapportarsi, come se fossero computer da hackerare, per poterne carpire i più intimi e nascosti segreti.

Il ragazzo, nella prima stagione, viene avvicinato da Mr. Robot, una misteriosa figura anarchica ed insurrezionalista a capo di un gruppo di hacktivisti conosciuti col nome di “fsociety”. Questa organizzazione si pone come obbiettivo principale di scardinare la società, cancellando il debito dei consumatori con le banche, e abbatere le grandi corporazioni che la controllano.
Mr. Robot vuole che Elliot entri a far parte del suo gruppo e, per convincerlo, promette di far fallire la E.Corporate, ritenuta responsabile di un disastro ambientale che ha causato la morte del padre di Elliot, e nonché principale cliente della Allsafe.

Il finale della stagione, accompagnato dai versi di THE HALL OF MIRRORS dei Kraftwerk, ha lasciato il pubblico con il fiato sopseso, con clamorosi colpi di scena e misteri che s'infittiscono.

[size=14pt]In una dimensione parallela contemporanea, il dispositivo tecnologico più in voga del momento è il cosiddetto synth, un avanzato androide dalle sembianze molto simili a quelle umane, ideato allo scopo di diventare un badante domestico per famiglie o un operaio per compiti più umili. Persone come George Millican, un anziano rimasto vedovo, lo usano non solo per essere aiutati nella vita quotidiana, ma anche come un dispositivo da compagnia, verso il quale può svilupparsi un legame affettivo. Nel Regno Unito una famiglia dei sobborghi, la famiglia Hawkins, ne compra uno ricondizionato, scoprendo presto che tale modello possiede capacità molto più avanzate di quelle pubblicizzate, comportandosi e pensando in modo simile ad un essere umano, con una propria volontà.

Il synth degli Hawkins non è l'unico esemplare con tale caratteristica, ma è membro di un ristretto gruppo di dispositivi che alcuni, come Leo, figlio del professore che ha ideato il codice in grado di far sviluppare una libera volontà ai robot, cercano di proteggere, mentre altri, in particolare l'ingegnere Edwin Hobb, cercano di neutralizzare profetizzando un'imminente singolarità tecnologica.[/size]

The Expanse è una serie televisiva statunitense di fantascienza trasmessa dalla rete via cavo Syfy dal 14 dicembre 2015.

Si tratta di un adattamento dell'omonima serie letteraria, una space opera scritta da Daniel Abraham e Ty Franck sotto lo pseudonimo di James S. A. Corey.

Nel XXIII secolo, il sistema solare è stato colonizzato dagli umani e si trova una situazione di precario equilibrio geopolitico a causa delle tensioni fra la Terra e le ex-colonie marziane, oramai indipendenti sotto il vessillo della Repubblica congressionale marziana, e il degrado sociale in cui sopravvive gran parte della popolazione degli avamposti nella fascia principale degli asteroidi e i pianeti esterni.
In questo difficile contesto, si intrecciano le vicende del detective di polizia Josephus Miller, di stanza su Cerere, a cui viene affidata l'indagine sulla scomparsa di una donna terrestre, Julie Andromeda Mao, e il secondo ufficiale del cargo portaghiaccio Canterbury, James Holden, inavvertitamente coinvolto in un incidente che rischia di destabilizzare irreversibilmente le relazioni tra Marte e la Terra e innescare un conflitto interplanetario...
